Kramon – Finestre Dirt Roads – Giro d’Italia

Up the dirt roads of the Colle delle Finestre (at 2178m)
stage 20 – Giro d’Italia 2015.

This is one of the legendary cycling climbs in Italy appearing regularly in the Giro d’Italia.

Colle delle Finestre is a mountain pass in the Cottian Alps, in the Italian region of Piemonte, linking the Susa Valley and Val Chisone.

The road was built around 1700 to gain access to the fortresses in the area, mainly the Forte di Fenestrelle.  The elevation is 2178m and the final 9km to the top is a gravel section.

It’s a beast of a climb, one of the toughest in the Alps. But the grade is steady. It’s almost always either side of 9%. No respites, but few crazy steep ramps either.

Each image is limited to just 8 pieces, is printed on ChromaLuxe Art Print Paper and can be framed or mounted on gallery quality German plexiglass. The artwork comes with a certificate of authenticity that is signed by the photographer.
